TTS Sketch #67

These photos just crack me up!
These are "my boys" at Cub Scout Day Camp.
One of the counselors played some H2O games.
At the end of his session,
he just started throwing the balloons straight up.
It was hillarious watching the boys!

Thanks to Patter at TTS

ERROR!

Error... yep.
This card is for all the nurses that have tried to start an IV
and couldn't get the vein. That must feel terrible,
especially on a kid.
My poor little guy was stuck twice before the gal
turned it over to another nurse.
He was given the "happy juice" hoping it would
take him back to the operating room for the IV.
NOPE...
doc got stuck in traffic! Can you believe it?!
So the juice wore off and the sweet little soldier got sad.
(as did mommy)
All in all... everything went really well.
Found out some things that could cause him problems
in the future but we know our God is so good.
My little soldier (and he REALLY is a tough and humble little guy)
is now healing, very sore but remote in hand.
Thank you, again and again, for your prayers!
Praise God for His miracles
and continue to lift my little guy in your prayers.
Thanks and have a blessed day!

Royal Wed Hop with Inspiration!

This blog hop officially starts at 9:00am.
Feel free to take a peek now but
check back for all the fun to begin!
After 9am you should be jumping FROM
and will continue hopping TO

Can you believe this rockin' image?!
I just think it's so stinkin' cute!

I'm having so much fun with her!
*
You will want to START your hop at
where our challenge is an
inspriation challenge today.
You just GOTTA check out the photo
used for inspiring our creativity... so fun!
I want everything in that photo.
And so my colorful card takes life!
*
Now hop on over to...
for more inspirational fun!
*
The outside of my card reads,
"Big chics don't cry..." and the inside reads,
"unless it's absolutely neccessary
to get what we want!"
(like everything in that photo!)
he he he...
Have a fun day!

A Dreamy Card with a Prayer Request

Aren't these colors and images just yummy?!
All from Stampin' Up! and can be found in
the new 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog.
I used the new stamp set called "Razzle Dazzle"
and the gorgeous paper titled "Razzleberry Lemonade."
(I wonder what razzleberries taste like, hmmm.)
*
The verse on my card comes with this set and
says, "It is good to dream."
Indeed!
I've shared many quotes about dreaming.
I will have to look those up and add them to my labels.
Yes, good to dream but even better
when those dreams are sweet dreams!
*
Please pray for my little one (age 10)
to have many many sweet dreams
as he rests and recovers from his
tonsillectomy and adnoidectomy TOMORROW.
His trust in God is so inspiring to me.
Still, when he prays, I can hear his nervousness.
Thank you in advance for those sweet believers
that follow my blog and will actually pray for us.
For those of you that do not know the love of Christ,
wouldn't you like to know the same trust my little guy has?
You can.
Please contact me. I would be honored to share with you.
*
Blessings... and sweet dreams!

Christmas in July Announcement, Baby Cards, and a Yummy Summertime Recipe

Wow, lots to chat about today...
first of all...
it's CHRISTMAS IN JULY!
This Sunday is our Christmas Card Stamp Camp.
We will stamp up 20 cards (of the same design)
for just $15!
Ya, can you believe that?!
All supplies (except adhesive, please BYO) are included.
YOU MUST RSVP FOR THIS CAMP BY THIS FRIDAY!
(There will be no kits available for late registration.)
to register for this camp.
Check back here soon for pics of the CARDS we will be making.
*
Now onto an adorable little card...
isn't it just precious?!
I used the new set "Animal Stories"
from the new 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog.
If you don't have your copy of this amazing
idea book, you can call or email me right away.
It is a MUST HAVE!
*
I am making up some of these cards
as a gift for a friend who just had a sweet baby girl.
The card reads "One little baby... many happy hearts!"
This verse comes from the set called
"Curvy Verses" and is also in the Idea Book and Catalog.
The inside of the card is blank so
my friend can write whatever she likes.
*
And yes, at last... I have a recipe for you!
It's been forever since I've included
a recipe in my posts.
If you know me any at all,
you know that I REALLY enjoy cooking
for my sweet little family (when I have the time, that is.)
My fav recipes are those "tried and true" ones
from real people that don't use
tons of spices I've never heard of. LOL
So... here it is... one of my FAVORITE summertime dishes...
*
RIVER STEW
2 med potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/3 lb baby carrots
2 stalks celery, sliced
1/2 med onion, quartered
1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced in quarter size bites
1 stick margarine
seasoning salt of choice, as much as needed for personal taste
*
Onto a 18x18" piece of HEAVY DUTY foil, sprayed with cooking spray, layer all ingredients as listed here. Loosely, fold foil up and around ingredients. Seal well. Wrap a second time to prevent leaking. Grill over low indirect heat for 30-40 minutes. Open carefully before serving.
*
OM, this is sooooo yummy! We call this river stew because we always make this when we go boating on the river with my family. Funny how things like that come about. he. he.
*
Please let me know if you decide to make it and what you think of it, especially if you change a this or that. I'd love to know how yours turns out! Enjoy!

TTS Sketch #65

A guest sketch artist blesses us today at TTS
It's our very own Alisa!
Thanks girl!
*
Sketch #65 looked like a bit of a challenge for me
...at first.
But once I got started on it,
like always, I am so thankful for TTS!
And the finished project turned out pretty darn cute!
Take notice on how I used the sketch for
INSPIRATION
but went a totally different route with the placing of items.

Sweet Season of Friendship

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
My dear friend, Kara, sent me this
AMAZING card of friendship.
I can't say "thank you" enough, Kara.
You made my day! No, wait! My week!
*
This set is called "Season of Friendship"
and I am so glad it made it into the
new Idea Book and Catalog!
I used Kara's set when we were at a retreat
and fell in love with how easy it is to use.
*
Would you look at what Kara
used for her little birdy's nest?!
Is that not the most adorable thing you've seen?!
It's GOLD CORD wrapped around a GLUE DOT!
Clever Kara!
*
Leave a comment if you've enjoyed this tip.
It would be so sweet for Kara to see your
words of encouragement!

Did someone say COPICS?

Oh yes, Copics indeed... 72 of them to be matter of fact!
Check out all the deets here...
and be sure to check out some amazing images at...
... really cute stuff!
*
As I venture through the papercrafting world,
I find more and more talent everywhere!
I have certainly found Copics are my markers of choice
when it comes to coloring in fine line art images
such as the Whiff of Joy image you see on my card here.
Copics glide like no other.
That is why I hope I win the 72 Copic give-away.
I only have about 8... 72 would be much better,
doncha think? he he.
*
Have a colorful day!

Blog Candy

Check out this amazing blog candy!
Whoot whoot!

Royal Wed Blog Hop

You should be jumping FROM
http://2amscrapper.blogspot.com/
and will continue hopping TO
http://www.mystampingheaven.typepad.com/
but go here to START
*
Today's card meets two challenges...
one uses "Rocker Bird" for Queen Kat Designs
which is a color challenge
and one for Splitcoast Stampers
which is a sketch challenge.
*
I LOVE challenges because they really
encourage me to THINK and CREATE.
Once I've accepted the fact
that I don't have to be "fancy smancy"
with my creations to play a challenge,
the freedom I have in creativity is unleashed.
Gotta love that!
*
So try one or both challenges today.
CASE if you like
(that's Copy And Share Everything)
or let your brain THINK and CREATE.
(Your brain will thank you!)
*
Have a blessed day, FRIEND!

Wynne's Tuesday Challenge

If you are a papercrafting lover...
please please please
consider taking this challenge.
Wynne would love the visit
and she and I both would love your ideas!
*
Every Tuesday over at
Wynne's Web Now
she offers a simple but sensational
challenge to get your creative juices flowing.
*
For all you young papercrafters
(aka Wynne's friends)
CASEing is the best way to make a really quick card.
CASE means you
Copy And Share Everything
so just make a card using Wynne's idea.
For example,
(and even if you don't have the exact stamp she used)
create a card that uses buttons as balloons
JUST like on Wynne's sample.
*
As you can see on my sample,
I went the more well-used way of buttons
and added mine as my flower center.
I just REALLY wanted to use
one of my new SU! hostess stamp sets
"Wings of Friendship."
Isn't that bird simply gorgeous?!
I also used the "rolling marble" technique on my card.
So hop on over to
and take the challenge.
If you have ANY questions, Wynne or I
are more than happy to help.
*
Thanks for dancing with me today!
