Super Easy Dry Embossing

At Stamp Club this past Sunday,
we saw how super easy
DRY EMBOSSING
really is.
This was an optional card
stampers could create
while at Stamp Club.
*
We used the Pick a Petal Classy Brass Template
found on page 186 of the Idea Book and Catalog.
What makes this style of dry embossing
so easy
is the Empressor Stylus.
No light box needed.
Simply lay your card stock
on top of the template,
feel where you want to emboss,
and then run the Empressor
against the edge of the template.
*
It's THAT easy!
*
Check back soon for
Stamp Club
updates as well as and upgrade
to our club make & take.
You won't want to miss it!

and her dreams of fairies.
She is quite the artist
and LOVES drawing fairies.
Hmmm... might just have to talk to
Vicki at Queen Kat about that. wink.

Be sure to check out the
AMAZING DINNER RECIPE
my family and I enjoyed this weekend.
It can be found at the end of this post.
DELICIOUS!
Thanks for dancing with me today!
ENJOY!

Taco Hot Dish

1 lb ground beef
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 bag Doritos (I used BBQ or Chili Cheese Fritos.
My kids like plain Fritos best.)
1 head lettuse, shredded
1 pt cherry tomatoes, halved
1 can Cheddar Cheese soup
1/2 C milk
3 C mozzerella cheese, shredded

Brown beef, drain. Add taco seasoning according to pkg. In a 9x13 dish, place Fritos. Place meat evenly on top. (The recipe cals for the next step to be lettuce and tomatoes atop the meat. I serve the veggies cold AFTER cooking the dish instead.) Heat soup with milk. Pour over layers. Cover with 2 C mozzerella cheese. Bake 350 degrees for 7 minutes. When done, cover with remaining mozzerella cheese.

Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Mother's Day is coming soon!
I believe that Mother's Day is the
perfect day to celebrate
ALL WOMEN!
So think of someone
who's inspired you
and send them a gift or at least a card.
*
This gift card holder is so easy to create.
You will want to give gift cards
to everyone just so you can give them this card! he he.
*
See the following photo for inside details.
And be sure to check out
the tutorial following
as well as an extra sample.
*
You can order any of the supplies listed
by emailing me

Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Supplies:

Good Friends stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog (email me for your copy.)

card stocks: Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White

classic ink colors: Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, and Chocolate Chip.

1.3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Bone Folder or Score Blade

Begin with a piece of card stock measuring 2.3/4 x 8.1/2". (You can get four of these cards from one sheet of 8.1/2 x 11" card stock.) Stamp entire sheet on one side with leaf image.

Score at 3.3/4 and 7.3/4". (inside image shown here)

Trim a strip of card stock to 1 x 9" for the belly band. Score at 2 and 6.1/8".

Using Sticky Strip (this is a MUST,) adhere belly band together.

Using a stip of card stock measuring 1.1/2 x 4", punch with the scallop edge punch.

Apply Sticky Strip to the BOTTOM of the scallop punched card stock.

Place the scallop punched piece onto the inside portion of the prestamped larger piece of card stock.

Adhere a piece of Whisper White, measuring 1.1/4 x 3.1/4", BEHIND the scalloped piece to the inside of the card. (This step can be done before applying the scallop piece. I do it after just to be sure my scallop piece is going to cover my neutral piece.)

Stamp butterfly image from "Great Friend" and cut out. Adhere it with a Pop-Up Glue Dot to the circle punched piece of So Saffron. Decorate band and slip it around card holder.

Here is a sample I received from a
secret sister of mine.
Thanks Shellie!

Blog Award Recipients

FOR TONS OF INSPIRATION,
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST.
*
As you know from yesterday's post,
Deann Oliver at
blessed me with the honor
of sporting this amazing blog award
which actually glorifies
our Father in Heaven
more than it does the recipient.
*
Diane Noble is the great lady
who introduced this wonderful blog award.
In her words,
"it is given to bloggers who
consistently exalt the name of Christ on their blogs.
What a joy to see crafters blend
passion for Christ and papercrafting.
This award is given to bloggers
who share Christ through their posts
or through the design of their artwork.
We are commanded in Scripture
to be 'salt and light' sharing
the Good News of Jesus no matter where we are
(Matthew 5:13-16).
This award is just a way members of
can say thanks for exalting Christ with us!
*
"Rules: Post the blog award in a regular post
on your blog with the explanation,
including the original link to WTW
and the rules for passing the award along.
1. Name five people (more or less is fine!)
to whom you want to offer this award
and link to their blogs.
The blogs need to obviously
exalt Christ in some manner.
2. Contact the bloggers you have named
to let them know they can
pick up their blog award from you.
3. Invite them to
permanently display the WTW blog badge
and/or the award on their blogs.
The badge can be obtained on the WTW site.
*
Now it's my turn to shout out
the blessings.
1. Danielle over at
(This gal inspires me
more than she probably knows.)
*
2. Patter over at
(I've so much gratitude for this gal!!!)
*
3. Nancy over at
(Here is where my Christian
blogging experience began.)
*
4. Cindy over at
(God is REALLY working through this gal!)
*
5. TTS blog
(How blessed am I?!)
*
*
Please visit ALL of these sites
when you get a chance to do so.
Thank them for
"holding out the Word"
(Pilippians 2:16)
and for sharing
His creativity through
paper crafting.
(1Peter 4:10)

Blog Award

Wow!
Praise be to our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
I am so very touched
to receive such an award!
Of all the blog awards that I have seen,
THIS ONE
is exhalted above all
because of Who it represents...
His talents
His inspiration
His thoughtfulness
His love.
*
Sometimes when my posts
get one or two comments
(or no comments at all)
I can't help but wonder,
"Is anyone even looking at this stuff?!"
(Not that I would stop if you weren't
cause I truly enjoy it and if only
one person is inpsired
then it is to HIS glory!)
Then God goes and says "THANKS, KellyJean!"
through someone as lovely as
Deann Oliver at
*
Thank you, Deann!
Thank you for allowing His love
and creativity flow through you.
And thank you for thinking of me!
You have no idea how you've made me feel!
Sweet blessings, my sister in Christ!
*
For those who enjoy dancing with me,
check back tomorrow for my
award recipients
as well as my CASE
of Deann's fabulous designs.

Magestic Monday

Do you find it difficult to "SHINE"
on Mondays? Me too.
Hopefully, my Elf Shimmer Fairy
will encourage you to shine today.
It is easier for me to shine my
light when I know it's
for a Greater Purpose...
Matthew 5:16
"Let your light so shine before all,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father in heaven."
With that in mind, do as the card says,
"Don't just flicker... SHINE!"

Stamping Royalty

Well...
it's official!
I am stamping ROYALTY.
(I always knew I was royalty... Gal.3:29)
Never thought I'd be "stamping" royalty.
This card is my very first
greeting card.

but never found one that suited my fancy.
That is, until now.

Sweet 6th Grade

Our elementaryschool goes to the 6th grade.
So our sixth graders get treated
like seniors of theschool.
It's quite special!
I can't believe my baby girl will
soon be agraduate!

The decorative paper on my page
will act as a pocket where
we can store her report card
once the year has finished.

I submitted my page
to our LSS for the monthly page contest.
So if you happen to live in my area,
please stop by
Lavender Sentiments Scrapbook Store
and vote. (for me, of course, he he.)
Take a look around while you're there.
Lana has some wonderful things to offer!

The card stock base of my page
is from LSS.
It was already embossed
with those cute swirls.
I added the Vanilla CraftInk
from Stampin' Up!
so my swirls would jump out a bit.
I edged my page by using the
Scallop Edge Punch
by Stampin' Up!.

Thanks for dancing with me today!
Know that Jesus is dancing for YOU!

Recipe Cards and a NMBS Challenge

I love sharing foodrecipes and
I love when foodrecipes are shared!
I am hostess for this week's NMBS Challenge.
Be sure to visit
and I hope you will join in the challenge.
You will find all my deets for that
as well as the recipe for
Creamy Chicken and Noodles.
(Wynne has asked for the name to be
changed to "Wynn'e Dish" cuz she LOVES it!)
Let me tell you how to create
this "stand-up card" which works
so well for recipe cards...
My base is Whisper White
measuring 4 x 8.5.
The Pacific Point (or dark blue)
measures 4 x 5.5.
Layered on the Pacific Point is WW again
measuring 3.75 x 5.25.
Now, this is the part that makes it STAND UP...
the little piece of Whisper White
on the INSIDE of the card
measures 4 x 2.75.
It is so simple to create...
basically quarter your WW.
Then halve one of the quarters.
These make super great
photo cards as well!
Thanks for joining my dance!
